Broad Town Parish Council – Inspection of Accounts 2024-2025

As per the provisions of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, Broad Town Parish Council has made its Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) for the year 2024-25 available for inspection by any interested person, together with all accounting records; books; deeds; contracts; bills; vouchers; receipts and other documents relating to these records.

If you have any issues to raise or wish to see the full accounts, please contact the Parish Clerk at . In accordance with the guidelines, the full accounts are available to view between the 11th June and the 22nd July 2025.

Temporary Closure of: C15 (Part), Clyffe Pypard (02.06.2025)

RWB & Malmesbury Wiltshire Connect service

The Public Transport team at Wiltshire Council is pleased to advise that we will be extending our popular Wiltshire Connect on-demand bus service to your parish from Wednesday 23rd April.

The service can be used for journeys to Royal Wootton Bassett, Malmesbury and to any location in the operating area (see map attached) which includes the Great Western Hospital, Orbital Retail Park and Kemble Railway Station.

Anyone can use Wiltshire Connect and the wheelchair accessible vehicles operate between 6am-8pm Mon-Fri and 8am-7.30pm on Saturdays.  Rides can be booked by using the Wiltshire Connect app or by phone on 01225 712900

Temporary Closure of: Pye Lane, Broad Town (13.06.2025)

Temporary Closure of: Pye Lane, Broad Town (Ref: TTRO 10388)
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to
all traffic:
Pye Lane, Broad Town; from its junction with White Way to its junction with C415.
To enable: Openreach to carry out works to lay ducting, install mod boxes and other
associated works.
Alternative route: via C415 – C15 – C119 and vice versa.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 13 June 2025 and the closure will be required
between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 19 June 2025. It is anticipated that the works will
take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be
maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to
the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Key election dates

We have been reminding residents of the key dates to be aware of to ensure they are ready to vote on 1 May. They include:

  • People have until midnight on Friday 11 April to register to vote if they’re not already registered.
  • People have until 5pm on Monday 14 April to apply for a postal vote.
  • People have until 5pm on Monday 14 April to change or cancel an existing postal or proxy vote.
  • People have until 5pm on Wednesday 23 April to apply for a new proxy vote (for someone to vote on their behalf).
  • People have until 5pm on Wednesday 23 April if they want to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate (if they don’t have photo ID).
  • Polls are open on Thursday 1 May from 7am – 10pm
  • Election results confirmed Friday 2 – Saturday 3 May

 

CANDIDATE NOMINATIONS

Don’t delay, book your nominations appointment today

A reminder that the booking system to enable you to bring in nomination forms is now live so please book a slot as early as possible.

In order to use the booking system, please create a ‘MyWilts’ account on the website.

Nominations can be delivered to the relevant council office for the electoral area you are standing in/putting up candidates in. The booking system will automatically tell you which office is relevant to your electoral area when you book.

There are two separate appointment forms, one for booking a single appointment for one nomination paper, and one to book an appointment to bring in multiple nomination papers. You can book to bring up to five nomination papers for one multiple appointment.  You have until 4pm on 2 April to deliver your nomination forms.

Top tips for completing nomination papers:

  • The checklist at the front of your nomination paper is a handy tool to ensure you have completed the form as required. Remember you should submit all of the pages of the form, even the legislation.
  • Check your dates! The earliest a nomination can be signed is 2 March 2025
  • Check your subscribers’ electoral registration numbers. Our customer services team is happy to confirm electoral registration numbers if you call 0300 456 0112 with the full name and address of your subscribers. More information on subscribers can be found on the Electoral Commission website.
  • Double check you are using the correct form. For election to Wiltshire Council, you must use the form for ‘Local Government’ elections. For election to a parish, town or city council you must use the form for ‘Parish’ elections.

  • We’d like to remind you that if you bring in multiple nomination papers, please bring in contact information for each individual candidate so that we are able to email them regarding the status of their nomination paper.

all traffic:
C15 (Part), Clyffe Pypard; from its junction with C119 to its junction with Thornehill Road.
To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out culvert replacement works and other associated
works.
Alternative route: via C15 (unaffected length) – C120 – C123 – C110 – C15 (unaffected
length) and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 19 May 2025 and the closure will be required until 23
May 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending
upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where
possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a
maximum duration of 18 months.
